ABOUT
Hi there! I’m Richard Cleaver.
I was born and raised in Lachine, a suburb of Montreal, in the province of Quebec, Canada. During the 1970s, I spent most of my time touring and recording. My hope was to make my living in the music business however after I married Lorraine in 1979, I decided to return to school. I was a student at the University of Western Ontario and, upon graduation, I began teaching Computer Science as well as consulting and eventually fell into a career as a senior technology executive in banking and insurance.
In addition to my corporate career, I owned and operated a recording studio called Whisperwood Recording Studios which has been running in some form for over 40 years now. I had one of the first digital project studios in Canada, a 24-track ADAT system with a Neve console. As the digital era evolved, the studio focused on Pro Tools and large format Digidesign (now Avid) control surfaces.
I have worked with hundreds of Christian artists over the years and played with numerous praise and worship teams as well as gigging with my own band. I was very active as a player and in the audio engineering world and I was blessed to work so many outstanding musicians in some of the best recording studios in North America.
I retired in July of 2018 although I still keep very busy with audio and music.
We are snowbirds dividing our time and our ministry efforts between our church in Florida and our church in Canada.
